At Sperling Dermatology, we offer this non-surgical facial-rejuvenation option for patients who are interested in restoring a more youthful look.
How Does a Vampire Facial™ Work?
In a Vampire Facial™, a refined version of the patient’s blood is used to resolve signs of facial aging. The blood contains several natural growth factors. Harnessing these factors allows us to treat aging signs like:
- Dullness
- Acne Scars
- Wrinkles
- Loss of facial volume & collagen
When the blood is refined into PRP (platelet-rich plasma) it can be used to encourage the growth of elastin and collagen proteins, along with new blood vessels and skin cells. These restore the health of the skin which then targets the signs of aging (listed above).
The Vampire Facial™ Process
A Vampire Facial™ is a quite simple process. The skin is first pre-treated with a strong numbing cream to help ease discomfort prior to the treatment. The treatment itself then takes around a half hour to forty minutes to perform.
At the start, a sample of the patient’s blood is drawn. This blood is then centrifuged to separate out the platelets and the plasma, two key components for rejuvenation. The final product is then gathered in a syringe. The treatment serum is then injected into the targeted regions with a micro channeling device also known as Microneedling which stimulates the revitalization process.
After the Vampire Facial™
Once your Vampire Facial™ is complete, you will be free to return to your normal daily activities immediately without missing a step. You may experience a small degree of bruising, swelling, and redness at the injection sites but these side-effects are temporary and will disappear shortly.
Over the next several months, the natural and subtle results of your vampire facelift will become evident. New elastin, collagen, and blood vessels will be forming in the skin and increasing its health.
The results of a Vampire Facial™ treatment last for about one year on average, and in some patients, they can last for up to two years. After this point, patients may be able to get follow-up maintenance treatments in order to preserve their results.
